All Members are expected to read and agree to these terms of Membership & Veterancy for their time spent within Asherons Exiles.
If you have any problems with this let your Class Leader know
If you have any problems with this let your Class Leader know
§1 Guild focus
a. The focus is the Guild Community. This means taking an active part in the Guild, joining in events, grouping with other Guildies on a fairly regular basis, helping others with quests, doing what you can to help the Guild as a whole. That does not exclude soloing, grouping with others, or refraining from jumping in to help every person who asks. It is about finding the right balance to benefit you and the Guild. And never forget - WoW is a game, real life take priority!
b. Characters that aren't active for over a month will be demoted to associate, and for longer than that eventually removed from guild. This does not apply to people who have told an officer about their absence in advance.
§2 Conduct
a. Never forget that you carry the Guild's Name above your head at all times, conduct yourself in a manner which will earn respect from your fellow players. Be proud of being a part of 'Asherons Exiles', and make those around you happy to see you as a member. Be polite, both to Guildies and fellow players. Be a nice person - have fun, don't spam, don't ninja-loot, don't kill steal, and don't get caught up in abusive arguments. Arguments may happen, but if it can be avoided please do so. It is a good idea to take any disagreements out of broadcast chat channels, and whispers are a very good way of saving embarrassment.
b. Any member who does not play within Blizzards policies will be removed from the Guild, as this can damage the Guild's reputation. Conversely, if another player acts poorly toward you, then try politely asking him or her to stop or reach a compromise, and if that doesn't work, try speaking with one of the Classleaders or Officers to ask for their help. There is never an excuse for dealing with like by like. Have self-respect.
d. Try to deal with small problems yourself. When you're not able to sort the problem yourself, you can turn to your classleader. Classleaders are there to offer support to their particular class and are there for advice and encouragement. Please treat them with the respect and courtesy they deserve. If your classleader isn't able to help you solve the problem, he or she will direct your problem to one of the officers, who will treat your problem in complete confidence.
§3 Chat
a. The Guild chat is there for fun. Please don't be surprised or annoyed if there is quite a lot of green!
Guildies are encouraged to contribute to the chat whenever they can. Whilst reading or posting Guildchat please remember to keep your sense of humour switched on and to have respect for others' views and opinions.
We also encourage Guildies to chat via a microphone on Ventrilo. The settings are available from the Guild information tab in game, but please ask if you need help.
b. You will be expected to type English in Guild Chat, we recognise that we will have many international members, so in the spirit of Global harmony it has been decided to ask this simple request. We can then all enjoy what everyone has to say and contribute, you will also be required to be more understanding for those members whose English may not be 100% perfect.
c. Do not beg in Guild chat, and especially not in /yell etc. By all means ask for help when you need help, but make the distinction. If it is not immediately urgent, try the forums. For quest assistance, do some research, plan a date and time, and ask for help from people via a forum post. It is easier to help those who help themselves in this respect.
d. Players must obtain and use Teamspeak for Guild Raids. If a player cannot do so they must inform a Guild Officer and ensure they are able to hear Voice Chat within the Raid Group. A Microphone is suggested but not required for Guild Raids.
§4 Joining
a. The Guild accepts new members of all kinds, primarily above Level 70. Players will be allowed to stay below that level, on the basis of their attitude towards the Guild and others, if they are either a Real Life friend or an Alt Character of a Guild Member of rank Veteran or above.
b. Applications to the guild should be made in game to any officer or via the forums. New players join as a Member (par se Associate) for a two week probationary period. If a Guild Member has cause to feel that an associate would not make a good member of 'Asherons Exiles', they are encouraged to bring this to the attention of a Guild Officer either by sending them an in-game mail or contacting directly. All such negative recommendations will be investigated before the applicant is denied membership.
c. All new Members have a 2 week probation period and in that time they should spend as much time as possible interacting with the Guild - grouping with members, attending events/raids, being active in Guild chat etc. After the 2 weeks are up and the officers are satisfied that the person fits in with the Guild they are promoted to full Member and their Officer Note removed.
d. In rare cases the probation period can be increased or even decreased (1 week minimum / 4 week maximum) at the officer's discretion based on comments from Guild members. If there are still concerns over the suitability of a initiate at any point during their probation period they will be removed from the Guild. Associates are not entitled to Guild Bank items or Raid Loot from their first Guild Raid under any circumstances.
§5 Alts
a. You are entitled to have Alts of any level in the Guild.
b. Alts will not be considered separate players for instances, and will thought they will earn DKP seperately, the account owner will be able to use the total DKP for lootrolls.
c. If you would like to bring an Alt into a raid then this is entirely at the Raid Leader's discretion. RL will make the judgement based upon the class balance for that raid and also the impact of you not playing your regular character. The Raid Leader's decision is final and not open to negotiation.
§6 Raiding
a. a. We encourage Guild Members to attend raids. Enjoyment should be your number one priority and attending raids and events with the Guild and it's allies can be very fun!
b. Any member may arrange an event, or quest group, as long as they do not conflict with existing Guild Events or raids. To plan events the Guild uses Group Calendar 4.0.4, which is available from the Downloads section, and you should install it if you want to raid at all while in Asherons.
c. Asherons Exiles is a social raiding guild. There are no such requirement to how many events you attend; you join raids when you want to. If you want to raid 25m you need to be a part of the raiding group with the rank of Veteran. To become a Veteran you need to be approved by an officer by attending 3 Guild Raids. You should contact any officer in game if you want to join the raiding group. The officer will arrange for you to join in an instance to find your weaknesses and strengths. The officer will assess if you are ready to join the raiding group. If so, you will be promoted to Veteran, if not, the officer will give you a reason so you can improve what is needed. When you have improved and think you are ready, you can apply again.
d. If you sign up for a raid you must show up. If you fail to show up for raids you have signed up for you will be given warnings by your class leader and a small Dkp penalty will be enacted. Repeated failure to show may eventually result in you being removed from the raiding group. Real life issues can and will happen, all that we ask is that you keep us informed as much as possible so we can plan around it and keep the game going for all the other guildies. If you are going to be late for any reason please try to let us know. If we know that you are going to be late then we will keep a spot in the raid open for you for 15 minutes maximum. If you are unavoidably late and haven't been able to let us know (damn those buses!) then we will keep a spot for you as long as we can but other guildies who are online and may wish to join will be allowed in to fill that spot.
e i. If you wish to create a Non-Guild raid as you cannot attend the Guild raid to a particular instance in a given week you must inform a Guild Officer and show the raid on Group Calendar, to be locked for sign ups. Other Guild Members who can attend the Guild raid may not attend and any who wish to join the Non-Guild run must speak to a Guild Officer first.
e ii. If you join a non-Guild raid without obtaining consent from a Guild Officer, or you say you cannot raid with the Guild on the official raid day yet are present for the length of the Guild raid, you will receive a small Dkp penalty and a bar from rolling on Loot Items for the next Guild raid you attend.
§7 Loot
a. When grouped with the Guild, any blue/purple item drops, 'Bind on Pickup' items or schematics etc must be passed by all members of the group. The group leader will decide based on need who gets the item. If no-one needs, there will be a greed roll. This rule also applies for boss drops! All pass, and the group leader decides.
b. The Guild uses a DKP system. More information later.
c. BoE epic loot can be bid on in the same way as BoP epic loot, however if we are upgrading our item sets in an instance in order to progress further we do require that you equip the item during the raid. Please check with your Classleader if you have any queries about a particular drop.
§8 Guild Bank
a. The Guild bank is for collection of special items from the large raid instances for distribution to Guildies and also for helping Guildies with their trade skills. It will also hold items that are donated by players.
b. Know what you want before you make a request from Guild Bank.
c. A record will be kept of who contributes to the bank and withdraws from the bank to ensure that people do not take advantage of the facility. If items are posted out to you, you will need to pay the postage via CoD to stop mails steadily eating away at limited Guild funds.
§9 Guild Funds
a. The Guild maintains Guild Funds on AsheronsBank. These are for funding of organised raids, prize money, and anything else that benefits the Guild. From time to time we may raise money for the Guild Funds, by organised raids, or by events with a small entrance fee.
b. There are no membership fees.
c. Funds are not available for loan to Guild Members.
